Labor and Delivery
Conway Regional offers 16 private LDRP (labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum) suites where mothers and well newborns can remain together from admission through discharge. A comprehensive infant security system provides added protection throughout your hospital stay.
To save time before arriving at the hospital, complete our online pre-registration at 30 weeks before your expected due date for delivery.
Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
We provide an eight bed Level II NICU, also known as a Special Care Nursery, that delivers care tailored to premature or moderately ill newborns, ensuring your newborn receives the appropriate level of medical attention while avoiding transfers to higher-level facilities unless necessary.
As a new parent, you may have access to a room near the NICU where you may care for your newborn in preparation for discharge.
Our Level II NICU provides:
- Respiratory support, such as continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) and short-term mechanical ventilation (less than 24 hours) for babies who cannot breathe independently.
- Intravenous medications and fluids.
- Feeding support, including tube feeding.
- Monitoring and care for conditions like mild respiratory distress, jaundice, low blood sugar, or infections.
- Stabilization and transfer of newborns, to higher-level NICUs if necessary.
Through our Nursery Alliance with Arkansas Children’s Hospital, our care team can collaborate with neonatologists at Arkansas Children’s Level IV NICU when additional expertise is needed. This connection brings an added layer of specialized support to newborn care at Conway Regional and helps ensure each baby receives care appropriate to their medical needs.
